01-01-2010 | Anthony 'Tony' Jacklin (born 7 July 1944) from England. Most successful British player of his generation and also most successful captain of the European Ryder Cup. Jacklin won two majors: The Open Championship in 1969 and the U.S. Open the following season. It was the first victory by a British player in that tournament since 1925, and as of 2009, it remains the only one by any European in the post-World War II era.
